2014年アジア地区予選大会には, 31チームを選抜する．
前提条件
2014年7月11日に開催された国内予選に参加したチームであること．
手順1
得点の高いチームから順番に次のルールを適用する．いま，該当チームをＡとする．
ルール 1
その時点での選抜チーム数が5に満たない場合：
Aと同じ大学等の所属でその時点で選抜されたチームの数が4に満たなければ, Aは東京大会の参加チームとして選抜される．
ルール 2
その時点での選抜チーム数が10に満たない場合：
Aと同じ大学等の所属でその時点で選抜されたチームの数が3に満たなければ, Aは東京大会の参加チームとして選抜される．
ルール 3
その時点での選抜チーム数が20に満たない場合：
Aと同じ大学等の所属でその時点で選抜されたチームの数が2に満たなければ, Aは東京大会の参加チームとして選抜される．
ルール 4
その時点での選抜チーム数が26に満たない場合：
Aと同じ大学等の所属でその時点で選抜されたチームがなければ, Aは東京大会の参加チームとして選抜される．
手順 2 [池辺記念奨励枠（*）]
手順 1 で選抜されなかったチームの中で得点の高いチームから順番に 次のルールを適用する。いま，該当チームをAとする．
その時点での選抜チーム数が29に満たない場合：
Aと同じ大学等の所属でその時点で選抜されたチームがなければ, Aは東京大会の 参加チームとして選抜される．
手順 3
残りのチームの選抜は，国内予選の各チームの成績および手順1, 2で選抜されたチームが所属する大学等の分布等を総合的に判断し，東京大会実行委員会 が決定する．
選手が2人以上女性で，手順2までで選抜された最下位チームと同数以上の問題に正解したチームについては，優先的に検討の対象とする．
例外
選抜チームが大会出場を辞退した場合：
手順3を適用して追加チームを選抜する.
*池辺記念奨励枠は，故池辺八洲彦氏の寄贈基金に基づき，アジア地区予選日本開催大会に近年出場していない大学等を奨励し、参加大学を増やすために設置された枠である．本枠は，2013年より5年間継続する予定である．
31 Japan-based teams, or teams whose members belong to a university/college in Japan, are selected for Asia Regional Tokyo On-Site Contest as follows:
Prerequisite: The team must have participated in the Domestic Contest held on July 11, 2014.
Step 1 :
The following procedures are performed for all teams in descending order of their scores. Let A be the team of interest.
1. If the total number of teams selected so far is less than 5:
A is selected as a participant in the Asia Regional Tokyo On-Site Contest, if less than 4 teams have already been selected from the same university/college.
2. If the total number of teams selected so far is less than 10:
A is selected as a participant in the Asia Regional Tokyo On-Site Contest, if less than 3 teams have already been selected from the same university/college.
3. If the total number of teams selected so far is less than 20:
A is selected as a participant in the Asia Regional Tokyo On-Site Contest, if less than 2 teams have already been selected from the same university/college.
4. If the total number of teams selected so far is less than 26:
A is selected as a participant in the Asia Regional Tokyo On-Site Contest, if no team has already been selected from the same university/college.
Step2 (Ikebe Memorial Award (*)):
If the number of selected teams is less than 29 after Step 1, the following procedures are performed for all teams in descending order of their scores. Let A be the team of interest.
A is selected as a participant in the Asia Regional Tokyo On-Site Contest, if no team has already been selected from the same university/college.
Step3:
The remaining participants will be selected by the Asia Regional Tokyo On-Site Contest committee. The decision will be made based on various factors, including the results of each team in theDomestic Contest as well as the distribution of universities/colleges selected by Steps 1 and 2.
Special consideration will be made to teams which have at least 2 female contestants and solved at least the same number of problems as the last team selected by Step 2.
Exceptions:
If a selected team declines the invitation, an additional team is selected through Step 3.
* The Ikebe Memorial Award is supported by the late Prof. Yasuhiko Ikebe Endowment Fund to promoteJapanese universities that have not advanced to the Asia Regional Japan On-Site Contest recently and to increase the number of participating universities. This award is planned to last for 5 years from 2013.
