選抜ルールを下記の通り定めます。なお、このルールは、ICPC運営委員会 (ICPC Board) によって制定されました。
前提条件
2018年7月6日に開催された国内予選に参加したチームであること．なお，アジア地区大会のチームは国内予選のチームと同じメンバーでなければならない.
手順1
参加チームについて成績順に以下のルールを適用する．いま，該当チームを A とする．
- その時点での選抜チーム数が 10 に満たない場合
Aは横浜大会の参加チームとして選抜される． - その時点での選抜チーム数が 20 に満たない場合
Aと同じ大学等の所属でその時点で選抜されたチームの数が 3 に満たなければ，Aは横浜大会の参加チームとして選抜される． - その時点での選抜チーム数が 32 に満たない場合
Aと同じ大学等の所属でその時点で選抜されたチームの数が 2 に満たなければ，Aは横浜大会の参加チームとして選抜される． - その時点での選抜チーム数が 42 に満たない場合
Aと同じ大学等の所属でその時点で選抜されたチームがなければ，Aは横浜大会の参加チームとして選抜される．
手順2 (池辺記念奨励枠†)
手順1終了後に，参加チームについて成績順に以下のルールを適用する．いま，該当チームを A とする．
その時点での選抜チーム数が 44 に満たない場合，Aが以下の条件を全て満たすならば，Aは横浜大会の参加チームとして選抜される．
- 同じ大学等のチームは2015年以後に国内予選から選抜されていない
- 手順1 または 2 で選抜されたチームが属する大学等以外のチームである
- 手順1で選抜された最下位チームと同数以上の問題を正解した
手順3
手順2 終了後，ホスト大学のチームで選抜されていない最上位の1チームは，横浜大会の参加チームとして選抜される．
辞退
池辺記念奨励枠に該当チームがなかった場合や選抜チームが大会出場を辞退した場合等，横浜大会実行委員会が定めたチーム数に満たなかった場合，参加チームについて成績順に以下のルールを適用する．いま，該当チームを A とする．
横浜大会実行委員会が定めたチーム数について，Aと同じ大学等の所属でその時点で選抜されたチームがなければ，Aは横浜大会の参加チームとして選抜される．
例外
予期しなかった事態が生じた場合は，横浜大会実行委員会が対応を決する．
†池辺記念奨励枠は，故池辺八洲彦氏の寄贈基金に基づき，アジア地区予選日本開催大会に近年出場していない大学等を奨励し、また、地区予選日本開催大会への出場校を増やすために，2013年より5年間の予定で設置した枠である．今年は予定を既に過ぎているが，予定された基金に余裕があるため延長することとした．
Team selection rules are laid down as follows by the ICPC Board of Japan.
Prerequisite
The team must have participated in the Japan National Online First-round Contest held on July 6th, 2018. The team of the Asia Yokohama Regional On-Site Contest must consist of the same members as the Japan National Online First-round Contest.
Step 1
The following procedures are performed for all teams in descending order of their scores. Let A be the team of interest.
- If the total number of teams selected so far is less than 10,
A is selected as a participant in the Asia Yokohama Regional On-Site Contest. - If the total number of teams selected so far is less than 20,
A is selected as a participant in the Asia Yokohama Regional On-Site Contest, if less than 3 teams have already been selected from the same university/college. - If the total number of teams selected so far is less than 32,
A is selected as a participant in the Asia Yokohama Regional On-Site Contest, if less than 2 teams have already been selected from the same university/college. - If the total number of teams selected so far is less than 42,
A is selected as a participant in the Asia Yokohama Regional On-Site Contest, if no team has already been selected from the same university/college.
Step 2 (Ikebe Memorial Award†)
After Step 1, the following procedures are performed for all teams in descending order
of their scores. Let A be the team of interest.
If the number of selected teams is less than 44, A is selected as a participant in the Asia Yokohama Regional On-Site Contest if all of the following conditions are satisfied.
- No team has already been selected from the same university/college since 2015.
- No team has already been selected from the same university/college through Step 1 and Step 2.
- A has solved at least the same number of problems as the last team selected by Step 1.
Step 3
After Step 2, the best team from the host university excluding the teams selected
through Step 1 and Step 2 is selected as a participant in the Asia Yokohama Regional On-Site Contest.
Withdrawal
If a selected team withdraws, the following procedures are performed for all teams in descending order of their scores. Let A be the team of interest.
A is selected as a participant in the Asia Yokohama Regional On-Site Contest, if no team has been already selected from the same university/college.
Exceptions
The Asia Yokohama Regional Contest Organizing Committee adjudicates unforeseen events.
†The Ikebe Memorial Award is supported by the late Prof. Yasuhiko Ikebe Endowment Fund to promote Japanese universities that have not advanced to the Asia Regional Japan On-Site Contest recently and to increase the number of participating universities. This award is planned to last for 5 years from 2013. Although the schedule has passed this year, it has been extended as the remaining fund can still support the award.
